World-Wide success

Clint Clark-Duke’s love of music was evident at an early age. He began singing in his small town church youth choir. The choir director, who also happened to be his first grade teacher, cast him in his first lead role in the school Christmas Musical. After hearing his old cousin practicing her piano lessons, he sat at the piano and began copying what he heard her do. He began piano lessons, and went on to compete at the state level, winning several awards, including at GHSA State Literary Competition, Gordon College Piano Festival, Georgia College Florestan Piano Festival, and The Kiwanis State Talent Showcase.

It was at the Kiwanis Talent Showcase that he first realized that stage presence and showmanship are just as important when playing the piano as they are when singing, dancing, or acting. It was rare for a pianist to win against the singers, dancers, and baton twirlers that generally competed, but his showmanship, in addition to song choice, and technical skill, helped him win against over 20 other contestants.

In college, singing and performing on stage, again became his focus. After getting his start on the professional stages of Six Flags Over Georgia and Dollywood, Clint graduated with a B.A. from the University of Georgia, and embarked on a career that would send him around the world.

After spending a year performing the role of Gaston on stage at Walt Disney World in Florida, Clint travelled to Osaka, Japan to originate the role of Frankenstein’s Monster in Universal Monsters Live Rock and Roll Show with the opening cast of Universal Studios, Japan. Upon returning to the United States, Clint began entertaining ocean goers as a Guest Entertainer and Lead Vocalist aboard the luxury cruise liners of Princess Cruises, Royal Caribbean International, and Crystal Cruises.

Clint then relocated to New York City. He has appeared in lead roles of Regional Theatre Productions up and down the East Coast, performing such roles as Gaston in Beauty and the Beast, and Chad in All Shook Up.

His education continued studying Music Business, as well as classical voice at Georgia State University. During his studies, he performed with The University Singers under Deanna Joseph.

After settling back in Atlanta, Clint continues to appear in local stage productions for such theatres as Atlanta Lyric Theatre, Actors Express, and Out Front Theatre, where he has portrayed the roles of Pharaoh in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Orin (the dentist) in Little Shop of Horrors, and Albin/Zaza in La Cage Aux Folles.

In 2023, Clint had the honor of performing at the 1070 seat Beyers Theatre at the closing of the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival with composer Charles Fox (Killing Me Softly, Theme from Happy Days, Theme from Wonder Woman, Theme from The Love Boat). Singing with vocalist Arianna Glover, the world premiere live performance of At The Movies, a song written by Rita Wilson and Charles Fox for the Documentary “Kill Me Softly With His Song.”

That same year, he premiered his One-Man-Show, “An Evening With Clint Clark-Duke” at Out Front Theatre’s Triangle Cabaret.

A capella music is a special interest of his. He currently manages the Atlanta Branch of The Tinseltone Carolers, for whom he also sings bass, arranges music, and coaches performance. His coaching and mentoring also extends to Emory University School of Medicine, where he works with medical students on the communication skills.

He is active in his community, serving on the boards of several non-profit organizations, including as Board Chair for Out Front Theatre Company. He also volunteers as a life coach and mentor for individuals experiencing major life changes, guiding them through the process of self-examination, reflection, and rebuilding self-esteem, damaged relationships, and working toward new success in life.

Clint is represented in Television, Film and Print by The Oui Agency of Atlanta, Georgia.

The reviews are in…

Wendell Brock - The Atlanta Journal Constitution

“…towering and deliciously expressive … can belt out a song with the charisma and incandescence of Mama Rose or Dolly Levi…Clark-Duke is hysterical as Albin, a drama queen extraordinaire, reminiscent of Gloria Swanson, Joan Crawford, and Bette Davis in their scenery-chewing prime.”

Bert Osborn - The Atlanta Journal Constitution

“…his own duet with (Anna Maria) Gonzales, is another musical standout.”

MARSHALL MABRY IV - ArtsATL

“Clint Clark’s Albin — the mother in the family equation and the star of the La Cage nightclub’s drag show — has bits of Tim Curry, Bette Midler and Patti LuPone in him while remaining his own man. His honest performance shows both Albin the performer and Albin the parent. His voice toes the line between musical theater and jazz standard, making his Act I curtain-closing anthem, “I Am What I Am,” all the more dramatic.”
